Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) or Medication Assisted Recovery (MAR) is the physician-supervised use of medication to treat opioid use, dependency and abuse. In study after study, medication assisted opioid treatment is proven to be the most effective method, significantly outperforming traditional forms of treatment that rely on counseling alone.
